ISU outline




T- Jane sacrifices her independence, morals, and self-respect for love.


R- Independence 

E- At the beginning Jane is extremely hard headed, however by the end, Jane is a complete softy for Rochester.

E- Jane doesn't want anyone to rely on in the beginning of the book, by the end, Jane completely relies on Rochester.

E- Jane gives up her fortune and property for Rochester once she gets married to him.


R- Morals 

E- Chose Rochester over St. John.

E- Falls in love with Rochester, although he already has a wife.

E- Jane goes with Rochester's lies.


R- Self-respect

E- Rochester is rude to Jane

E- Jane feels worthless after leaving Rochester.

E- Jane goes back to Rochester.
